The present work aims to study the case of Thailand. The intention is to affirm that the country under study is emerging as a regional power. Thus this concept will be used because Thailand has not yet fully into the global sphere, however, it is a great reference in its neighborhood, Southeast Asia. The foregoing must be understood under the economic projection and multilateral participation of the country in the ASEAN, the impact organization in the region.
Three objectives were proposed to help understand why Thailand is said to have a profile as a regional power. The first part of the document compares the position of Thailand regarding the neighboring States in Southeast Asia, continentally speaking, these are: Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. The second part attempts to demonstrate the ability of Thailand to mobilize its available resources and negotiation strategies that allow it to establish itself in the region, in order to argue the leadership position on economic cooperation within ASEAN within the framework of the economic growth strategy driven by the "Thailand 4.0". This will be evidenced by official documents of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and their actions in the aforementioned body. Finally, analyze the foreign policy undertaken by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, an institution that has sought to implement policies that favor the country's economic growth and its influence in the region.
The above three arguments lead us to affirm that Thailand is indeed a country with a regional power profile, which will gradually enter the global sphere in order to be able to become a great power in the future, bearing in mind that there are other countries that also have the potential to achieve it.
