Abstract
Summary in foreign language
Road congestion in the Colombian capital city is one of the underlying issues in modern cities, which become the epicenter of industrial and economic development. The Calle 13 road corridor in Bogotá D.C. is one of the sectors with the highest vehicle flow, especially due to the transit and transportation of heavy-duty vehicles which in turn influences several problems, that affect the quality of life of the capital's inhabitants, especially those who live in areas surrounding this entrance and exit of the city.
This research, based on the multi-method approach, does an analysis of official mobility reports and open data from 2018 to 2020, in addition to the surveys applied to transporters of this vehicle fleet and inhabitants of the area, to establish the implications of heavy traffic. The results highlight an increase in the volume of heavy-duty vehicles in the sector, as well as cultural, logistical and infrastructure factors in the road network that influence the multi-sectoral impact of these vehicles. Subsequently, alternatives are proposed that tend to enhance mobility on the Calle 13, which is anchored to the district decrees that regulate traffic schedules in the capital with the exception of this road.
