| dc.description.abstract | El Museo Marítimo de Cartagena, Colombia, es una institución cultural dedicada a la promoción y preservación del patrimonio marítimo y naval de la ciudad. Está ubicado en el sector de Getsemaní, en un edificio histórico conocido como el Fuerte de San Sebastián del Pastelillo. El museo ofrece a los visitantes una visión completa de la importancia de Cartagena como puerto y enclave marítimo a lo largo de la historia. A través de sus exposiciones y colecciones, los visitantes pueden explorar la relación de la ciudad con el mar, desde la época precolombina hasta la actualidad. Entre las principales atracciones del museo se encuentran maquetas de barcos, instrumentos náuticos, documentos históricos, fotografías, pinturas y artefactos relacionados con la navegación, la pesca y el comercio marítimo. Estas exhibiciones ofrecen una perspectiva detallada de la influencia del mar en la vida de Cartagena y su papel en la formación de su identidad cultural. El Museo Marítimo también organiza actividades educativas y eventos relacionados con la temática marítima, como conferencias, talleres y exhibiciones temporales. Además, cuenta con una biblioteca especializada en temas marítimos que brinda recursos y material de investigación a estudiantes, académicos y entusiastas del mar. En resumen, el Museo Marítimo de Cartagena, Colombia, es un espacio cultural que ofrece a los visitantes la oportunidad de explorar la rica historia marítima de la ciudad, mediante exposiciones, colecciones y actividades que destacan su relación con el mar y su importancia como puerto estratégico. Con esta investigación se pretende renovar el Museo, para hacerlo un icono del turismo y de pertenencia por la historia naval de Cartagena, por medio de un proyecto arquitectónico que albergue todas las memorias históricas, los elementos y algunas de las reliquias más importantes a través de la historia, además de convertirse en un punto importante en la ciudad, para llegar a esto se realizó una investigación profunda para poder hallar el problema y darle una solución técnica pero también social.
