Resumen
This is the sixth volume in Palgrave Studies in Digital Business and Enabling Technologies, a series that aims to contribute to multi-disciplinary research on digital business and enabling technologies in Europe. Cloud computing is the computing paradigm of choice for next generation applications and is a fundamental building block in social media and the Internet of Things, amongst others. Much of the innovation we associate with digital transformation and the socio-economic benefits of a ‘Digital Society’ are built on cloud computing and the exchange of data between various actors and systems in this ecosystem. Despite the massive opportunity in cloud computing, in terms of employment and GDP, Europe lags other major markets, both in cloud provision and adoption. This book focuses one of the most significant barriers to cloud computing adoption, trust and privacy.
