Resumen
Recently, waterless cosmetics have gained significant popularity among consumers with a strong environmental conscience, as well as the interest of the cosmetic industry, which is constantly searching for innovative, sustainable, less strongly preserved cosmetics that meet consumer needs. The concept of waterless cosmetics represents a novel approach to the creation of more concentrated cosmetic products, incorporating a greater proportion of active ingredients. Anhydrous cosmetic-type products are also gaining popularity in the field of multiple-use beauty products. In this context, the role of water activity within the cosmetic industry is becoming increasingly significant. The objective of this document is to present a perspective on the application of water activity in cosmetic products. Additionally, explore the application of lowered water activity as an adjuvant to the efficacy of preservatives in the context of product formulation and application of the hurdle concept.
