Abstract
La investigación se centra en identificar los elementos cosmogónicos y físicos de la necrópolis prehispánica de San Agustín y Tierradentro, localizada en el Macizo Colombiano. El rito funerario, los hipogeos (arquitectura enterrada), las esculturas en piedra, la geometría y el culto al agua son aspectos ligados a su simbología, usados como herramientas para la realización de un proyecto arquitectónico contemporáneo, en este caso, un hotel y centro de convenciones ubicado a las afueras del municipio de San Agustín.
Para poder llevar a cabo la investigación, se ha realizado una revisión sistemática de casos similares, que reinterpreten arquitectura nativa y arquitectura funeraria a nivel mundial; para así, determinar las cualidades espaciales y condiciones que tienen los proyectos de este tipo, para aplicarlo al proyecto y por medio de la arquitectura activar la memoria de un sitio, conmemorando los hechos históricos que allí ocurrieron.
Además, se investiga sobre las condiciones y cualidades que tiene la arquitectura enterrada para que puedan ser aplicadas al proyecto a realizar.
Finalmente, el proyecto busca hacer una reivindicación histórica de las culturas que se asentaron en esta región, se analizan las condiciones actuales del municipio de San Agustín, y se encontró que, a pesar de ser un sitio de gran atractivo turístico a nivel nacional e internacional, son muy pocos los colombianos que lo visitan o conocen, ignorando que la protección, conservación y memoria de estos asentamientos mantiene viva la diversidad cultural e identidad en Colombia.

The research focuses on identifying the cosmogonic and physical elements of the Pre-Hispanic necropolis of San Agustín and Tierradentro, located in the Colombian Massif. The funeral rite, the hypogeum (buried architecture), the stone sculptures, the geometry and the cult of water are aspects linked to its symbolism, used as tools for the realization of a contemporary architectural project, in this case, a hotel and a convention center located on the outskirts of the municipality of San Agustín.
In order to carry out the research, a systematic review of similar cases has been carried out, which reinterpret native architecture and funerary architecture worldwide; in order to determine the spatial qualities and conditions of projects of this type, to apply them to the project and activate the memory of a place through architecture, commemorating the historical events that happened there.
In addition, the conditions and qualities of buried architecture have been investigated so that one may be applied to the project.
Finally, the project seek to make a historical claim of the cultures that accentuated in this region, the current conditions of the municipality of San Agustin were analyzed, and it was found that despite of being a place with major tourist attraction, nationally and internationally, there are very few Colombians who visit or even know about it, ignoring that the protection, conservation and memory of those settlements maintain alive the cultural diversity and Colombian identity.
