Abstract
El municipio de Tabio cuenta con una infraestructura de acueducto que comprende el abastecimiento de agua cruda del Rio Frío, su tratamiento y el suministro de agua potable a la red de distribución de la cabecera municipal, cuya operación ha sido objeto de análisis para la elaboración de un diagnóstico con el cual se han identificado y justificado aspectos de control relevantes en su funcionamiento, base a partir de la cual se plantea un sistema de monitoreo y control mediante la integración de equipos y sensores para el seguimiento de las variables y parámetros asociados a la planta de tratamiento de agua potable, lo cual permitiría la optimización de los recursos involucrados en dicho tratamiento, mejorando los diferentes indicadores del gestión del prestador de este servicio público esencial.

The municipality of Tabio has an aqueduct infrastructure that includes the supply of raw water from the Río Frío river, its treatment and the supply of drinking water to the distribution pipe network to the urban area of the municipality. This operation has been the object of analysis for the elaboration of a diagnosis with which relevant control aspects in its operation have been identified and justified. Based on this diagnosis, a monitoring and control system is proposed, through the integration of equipment and sensors for the follow-up of the variables and parameters associated with the drinking water treatment plant, which would allow the optimization of the resources involved in the treatment, improving the different management indicators of the provider of this essential public service.
