Abstract
Summary in foreign language
This investigation analyzes the relationships that are established between the Memorial por la
Vida in Centro de Memoria Paz y Reconciliación and four works that took place there: Tierra
Sembrada de Memoria, Phoenix, Latidos and Costurero de la Memoria, taking into account
participation and perception of these interventions. This was based on a screening of works that
had taken place in the Memorial por la Vida, from these are chosen three taking into account
their impact on the CMPR and ease in tracking the events during their conception and
development. This information was collected through semi-structured interviews with both the
artists leading the project and other participants, bibliographic and audiovisual material review.
Therefore, this information was analyzed considering the social and aesthetic implications that
have been given to monuments, where it was found that this type of installations/intervention
activates the Memorial por la Vida, thus fulfilling the objective set from the beginning of its
construction: an active monument that wasn't silent. In the same way, it’s possible to see
similarities that these four works had regarding the participation and form of representation
about victims and how the latter is directed towards the future of them.
