In order to study reef fish settlement in three localities of Santa Marta, Caribbean coast of Colombia, floating devices GuSi type were fixed between 10 and 12 m depth. Each structure was conformed by two polyethylene cylinders, fiber tassels resembling algae systems as attraction elements and concrete ballast. Considering the incidence of new moon, monthly collections were made between March 2003 and February 2004, after sorting the main groups, fish were identified, measured and weighted. Preliminary results of the work show a total of 1220 individuals grouped in 45 species, 23 families, 35 genera, and 16 unidentified individuals.spa
