dc.description.abstract	El fuerte aumento en el gasto de cooperación para el desarrollo de China es particularmente relevante para América Latina y el Caribe (ALC). Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar la evolución y las perspectivas de la ayuda exterior china a ALC, y se divide en tres partes: la primera presenta una visión conjunta de la evolución de la ayuda de China a ALC, dividida en seis fases históricas que responden a los cambios políticos, y las demandas estratégicas y económicas del país asiático; en la segunda, se presentan los datos empíricos relacionados con la Asistencia Ocial al Desarrollo, junto con el análisis de sus Otros Flujos Ociales; la tercera sección proporciona una visión general de los benecios potenciales para la región que se derivan de la relación con China. Concluimos que es muy probable que la ayuda, otros ujos ociales y el comercio bilateral de China a América Latina y el Caribe proporcionarán un crecimiento a corto y mediano plazo para la región; no obstante, aunque China se presenta como un aliado a largo plazo, existen dudas sobre la sostenibilidad del crecimiento a futuro, debido a la dependencia de la región de los recursos naturales.	spa
dc.description.abstractenglish	e strong increase in the expenditure of the Chinese cooperation for development is particularly relevant for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). is article aims to analyze both the evolution and the perspective of the foreign Chinese help provided to LAC in three study parts: rst, an overarching view of how Chinese help to LAC has evolved, which consists in six historic stages according to the political changes and the strategic and economic demands in the Asian country; second, presentation of empirical data related to the Official Assistance for Development together with the analysis of other Official Flows; third, an overview of the potential benets for the region from the relations to China. We conclude that there is a high probability that the said help, other official ows, and the bilateral trade between China and LAC will contribute to the short- and medium-term growth in the region. However, even though China appears as a long-term ally, there are some doubts on the growth sustainability in the future since the LAC regions still has a strong dependence on the natural resources.	spa
