El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) is the main source of interannual-scale climate variability in Colombia, leading a wide range of effects on the country's hydroclimatology, due to its spatial scale and the possible combinations of its phases with those of other ocean-atmospheric events. This study aims to evaluate the ENSO teleconnection with the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) and its relationship with precipitation in Colombia. Different indices of ENSO and the NAO (1951-2016) were used, as well as precipitation data from the Climate Hazards Group Infrared Precipitation Data (CHIRPS) for the Colombian mainland (1980-2016). For this, 9 scenarios were formed combining neutral events, influenced by volcanic eruptions and ENSO years, with a difference where the maximum anomalies occurred: Central Pacific (CP) or Eastern Pacific (EP), which were related linearly by Pearson Correlation (LC) and nonlinear using the concept of mutual information (MI). The ENSO-NAO CL increased when considering indices that measure the SST of the CP as well as scenarios that included such events. In the same way, a higher ENSO-precipitation LC was observed with the scenarios of ENSO, El Niño CP/EP + La Niña CP, and ENSO CP events (r > 0.7) for the Pacific, Caribbean, Andean and Orinoco regions. The coefficients were reduced when considering cold and EP events with lower coefficients (r < 0.4) for multiple regions, however, the MI increased with these scenarios (MI > 0.6). The MEI and BEST indices presented correlations of up to r = 0.8 with precipitation. It is concluded that the ENSO-OAN teleconnection was similar to the ENSO-precipitation relationship, with the influence of ENSO being relative to the longitudinal position of ENSO, with greater importance for PC-centered events. In addition, it was observed that the combination of ENSO-OAN phases could help to understand the effects of ENSO on precipitation in Colombia.spa
