Abstract
prefieren no hacer parte.
Summary in foreign language
Transphobia is a new concept, which defines a historical phenomenon of which a part of
the population has been a victim, which to this day still claims the guarantee and respect for
their human rights. Transgender / trans women have been marginalized by different groups
of the society, they face a little recognized dilemma, identified by the voices and
testimonies of those who live it: the LGBTI community that should unconditionally
welcome them and provide them with safe and protective spaces, respecting their gender
identity, today has become a space that many transgender / trans women prefer not to be
part of. This research, framed as qualitative, aims to provide some answers and
contextualize the general problem, contrasting the realities and experiences of two
transgender / trans women, the first one, who has been building their gender identity for
more than twelve years, and the second one, that it is just beginning its journey. The
transphobia that both have experienced is an important part of the construction of their
identity and the way in which each one perceives herself as a social subject.
